Exploring the archeology of New York City, this course examines how archaeological research contributes to our understanding of the city's past, including indigenous New Yorkers, Africans and African Americans, and immigrant communities. Students will learn methods for the identification and analysis of archaeological collections in a combined lecture and laboratory format using artifacts from the New York City Archaeological Repository.
