Anthropology of U.S Blacks

This course seeks to explore some of the ways in which the Black Experience in the U.S. both challenges and illuminates key anthropological categories such as citizen, agency, state, class, caste, and nation. The central purpose of the course is to better understand the Black Experience in the U.S. and also to begin think about how that experience informs the modern world system.
