This course offers a comparative and historical perspective on contemporary Latin American societies and cultures. Topics include the politics of indigeneity, race, and ethnicity; social movements and human rights; economic and environmental inequality; post-conflict and post-dictatorship political dynamics; and migration and the diaspora.
