Housing remains among the United States’ most enduring Sociology 496 Programs and Courses of Instruction social problems. This course provides an introduction to major housing problems in the U.S. and the social contexts and debates that surround them. Integrating sociological and related theory and methods, the course considers: major issues the U. S. faces in housing its population; the social, political, and economic contexts that contribute to them; the major social debates that frame them; and possible policy solutions.
