Contemporary issues in philosophy and psychology, such as the mind-machine analogy, the artificial intelligence model of the human mind, intentionality, representation, consciousness, concept formation, free will, behaviorism, mechanism. Discussion and evaluation of contemporary work in the field. This course is the same as Computer and Information Science 1410 and as Philosophy 3423. (Not open to students who have completed Computer and Information Science 32.1.)
