Catalog description

Contribution of literary sources to the study of politics. Political concepts and problems include freedom, authority, race, sex, property, and marriage. Application of political criteria and aesthetic criteria to works by such authors as Aeschylus, Austen, Melville, Hurston, Morrison, Ngugi, Naipaul, Dangarembga, Butler, Bechdel, Achebe, Jones, and Marshall. This course is the same as ENGL 3293.
