A biographical treatment of the life of Albert Einstein, with emphasis on the scientific breakthoughs and struggles which formed his major contributions to modern science. His interactions with the other giants of 20th century physics, both personal and intellectual. The evolution of his political and social views, and how they paralleled that of his scientific thinking. The impact of his image as the leading iconic symbol of 20th century science. (Not open to students who have completed Core Curriculum 3320.) 2017-2018 and 2018-2019: Satisfies Pathways College Option requirement. Courses for physics majors & engineering
