Catalog description

Themes drawn from all regions of the continent of Africa south of the Sahara from 1800 to the present. The Islamic revolutions, the Zulu Empire and political evolution in South Africa, the rise of legitimate trade, the impact of European missionaries and explorers, imperialism, the colonial state, nationalist independence movements, post-independence challenges, and current economic, political, and current issues. This course is the same as Africana Studies 3102.
