Catalog description

Colonial origins of the ideas and forms of American constitutional development. Drafting and establishment of the Constitution. Study of its changing interpretation in the context of changing global political, economic, and social conditions of the nineteenth century and twentieth century, particularly concerning class, race, and gender. Evolving concepts of liberty. Supreme Court and modern American politics.
