Such topics as the beginnings of humanism; Petrarch and Boccaccio, Florentine Platonism; the High Renaissance: Machiavelli, Ariosto, Tasso; the northern Renaissance: Erasmus, Rabelais, Ronsard and The Pleiade, Montaigne. (Not open to students who have completed Comparative Literature 25.) This course is the same as ENGL 3615.
