Study of social, historical, cultic, and literary contexts of gender roles, the body, and sexuality in ancient Greco-Roman religions, ancient Judaisms, and early Christianities. Application of modern theory to ancient evidence. This course is the same as Women's and Gender Studies 3710 and Studies in Religion 3042. Prerequisites: English 1010 or permission of the chairperson.
