Transforming the code of electrical signals into more meaningful language of the biological processes shaping our thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Impact of neuroscience in understanding everyday activities like motor actions, sleep, dreams, learning, memory, perception, cognition, movement, attention, language, decision-making, appetite, rewards, social behavior and sexual behavior. Correlation of neural systems with experience, development, consciousness, substance abuse, mental health and overall well-being. Satisfies Pathways Required Core Life and Physical Sciences requirement. (Not open to students who are enrolled in or have completed any course in biology or who have completed Core Studies 8.1 or CORC 1321)
