Catalog description

This course explores three types of narrative: stories of immigration, of second-generation identity construction, and those that emphasize global or postcolonial perspectives. Possible guiding questions: How do Asian American texts represent class, gender, generation, and ancestral histories? How do they use, challenge, or re-envision existing literary codes and conventions to introduce issues not strictly literary? This course is the same as ENGL 3289. Prerequisites: English 1010; or the Permission of the Program Director.
