Haiti's connections to and influences on global communities. Interrelations with Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America, and the United States. Analysis of Haiti’s cultural, political, and intellectual contributions to the broader Africana World. Contemporary issues facing Haitian communities locally and globally. Key themes: Revolution; Decolonization; Self- determination; Black identity; Liberation Movements; Spiritual Practices; Pan-Africanism; solidarity across African, Latin American/Caribbean, and American contexts; Diaspora and Transnationalism.
