This course examines the poetry, drama, and novels of such significant writers as Clorinda Matto de Turner, Gertrudis Gomez de Avellaneda, Jose Marmol, and Jorge Isaacs. Attention is given to the particular cultural and racial issues of the countries in which the works were written.
