This course examines gender constructions and cultural representations of femininity in Spain in the 20th and 21st centuries. It includes gender and cultural theory, literature, visual arts, and music. Among the authors are: Remedios Varo, Federico Garcia Lorca, J. A. Bardem, Ana Mariscal, Carmen MartinGaite, Juan Colom, Rosa Montero, Pilar Miró, Pedro Almodóvar, and Iciar Bollain.
