Catalog description

This course examines the biopsychosocial determinants of drug use, as well as scientific evidence for the impact of their use or abuse on the individual and society. Discussion will focus on the recreational and therapeutic use of both commonly available (e.g., caffeine and alcohol) and restricted (e.g., opioids and amphetamines) substances.
