Emergency Preparedness, Response and Recovery

Catalog description

The purpose of the course is to introduce students to policy, planning and management of human services issues that arise in preparing for and responding to disasters and emergencies that have broad effects on people, property, and communities. The course includes the role of both government and nonprofit organizations in responding to disasters and in providing services for relief and recovery. The course also addresses issues of readiness and planning by public and community organizations. Recent and historical events provide examples for students to examine and compare.Open to Austin W.
