Catalog description

Structure, technique, and basic theory of queues. An introduction to Poisson and non-Poisson queues; the use of statistics in the development of models and Monte Carlo simulation analysis of queues. Fundamentals of stochastic processes, especially Markov chains and processes are described. Single and multiple channel queues, the birth and death process, and constant service times are also considered. Erlang service times are discussed. Special topics, such as special service disciplines, bulk queues, sequencing, replacement theory, and reliability, are presented.
