Catalog description

This class is designed to introduce students with basic math skills to the beauty and importance of mathematics in the arts and sciences. Students will read and write about subjects that can be understood with a minimal amount of mathematics. Topics include the numbers pi and e, the divine proportion (the golden mean), Fibonacci sequence, patterns in art and nature, and different number systems. This course is graded on a pass/fail basis.
