Catalog description
This course examines important Italian contemporary short stories, novels, and plays. Special attention is given to the socio-historical contexts of the works, with particular focus on Italian Fascism and the Period of the Reconstruction. It considers philosophical and sociopolitical themes as well as literary techniques, language and style. Among the writers to be included are Pirandello, Vittorini, Buzzatti and Doni.
