Catalog description
This course will analyze the colonial past of the United States. It will focus on indigenous societies, European settlement, the emergence of an Atlanticeconomy, slavery, gender roles, relationships between British colonies and competing colonial systems, and racial and class tensions within this society. It examines the origins and consequences of the American Revolution as well as theestablishment of a new republic.
