Catalog description

This course studies the development of the novel from the beginning of the 19th century through the 1920's. Special emphasis is placed on major movements such as Romanticism, Realism and Naturalism and on social issues. Authors may include Chateaubriand, Balzac, Stendhal, Zola, and Proust. This course fulfills the Tier III capstone requirement.
