Catalog description

This course offers an introductory exploration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) within the realm of financial and economic data analysis. Beginning with a discussion of the differences between machine learning and traditional econometric models, students will delve into fundamental concepts such as the balance between overfitting and underfitting. Subsequently, the course progresses towards more advanced and contemporary model architectures, including but not limited to large language models (LLMs), providing students with insights into harnessing these formidable tools for data analytics.
