Catalog description

This course will provide an experiential framework for launching innovative, high-potential products and services for both entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs. Leveraging both Design Thinking and Lean Startup methodologies, students will learn how to identify and design scalable products and services, gain familiarity with the start-up process, and investigate how to validate emerging business opportunities. Key concepts such as problem identification, design ideation, prototyping, and co- creation will help students focus on, and refine product-market fit.Readings, assignments, and in- class exercises will be used to illustrate key principles, stimulate discussion, and foster the creative thinking necessary for innovation. Additional topics such as fundraising, investor pitches, legal matters, and success-factors for technology ventures will also be discussed.
