Social Entrepreneurship

Catalog description

This course addresses the ways in which individuals, through their businesses and other activities, can pursue opportunities to catalyze social change and address pressing, unmet social and environmental needs. Students will develop their own “Theories of Change” that articulate how they intend to transform patterns of thought, behavior, social relationships, institutions, and social structures to generate beneficial outcomes for communities, organizations, and/or the environment. The course explores social and environmental issues, and challenges students to discover and identify entrepreneurial opportunities to create sustainable change.
