The form, variety, and extraordinary possibilities of the English sentence; from the simple to the advanced; for the subject matter of this course, one that examines how sentences are put together, how they work, and how they carry power to persuade an audience and effect change. The course will discuss issues of correctness, grammaticality, common usage, and formal writing, and will help students generate correct, sophisticated, audience-appropriate prose.
