Virtual Teamwork

Catalog description

This course covers theories and methodologies of virtual teamwork. Topicsinclude issues related to communicating across cultural and geographicalboundaries in international online collaboration; cultural factors influencing team communication and practices; and social presence and project management inonline environments. Students will explore both asynchronous and synchronouscommunication tools and collaboration platforms (including audio and video conferencing and advanced virtual-team technologies) and analyze them in terms of effectiveness and applicability to different team tasks. Students will apply theacquired knowledge in domestic and global virtual teams in the course of the term.
