Biostatistics

Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to basic statistics commonly used in life science research. Topics will include experimental design, one-sample tests, the use of the linear model (including t-tests, ANOVA, ANCOVA, and regression), and an introduction to semi- and fully-non-parametric tests. Students will gain proficiency in using the R programming environment. (Students will receivecredit for BIO 2100 or ENV 2100, not both. These courses may substitute for each other in the Freplacement policy. BIO/ENV 2100 is not open to students who have completed PSY 2100, STA 2000, or STA 2100, and is not an option for BBA majors. BIO/ENV 2100 cannot be used in lieu of STA 2000 to satisfy pre-business core requirement for a Zicklin major, or to satisfy the prerequisite for anyintermediate or advanced statistics course.)
