This course studies the portrait of Jesus and the good news provided by the early Christian community as preserved in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, known as the Synoptic Gospels. Focus lays on interpreting the theology of the Gospels and their particular contributions to the development of Christianity through their literary, historical, and social contexts.
