Spanish Phonetics

Catalog description

This course will introduce students to Spanish phonetics, which is the linguistic study of how speakers of Spanish produce sounds to form spoken language. Students will apply this knowledge to actively improving their own pronunciation in Spanish from the beginning to the end of the course. Students will also be introduced to the phonetic panorama of the Spanish language spoken in different parts of the world. Satisfies Magis Core: Designated Oral Communication, Designated Technology. This course will be taught in Spanish. P: Oral Communication; Six SPN credits at the 300-level.
