Catalog description

This course examines how and why some issues come to be conceptualized as social problems and how this affects understandings of their causes and potential remedies. Today inequalities of class, race, gender, sexuality, and ability are the subject of social justice struggles that must be understood in both personal and institutional terms. CO: COM 101 .
