Living in political community can be as challenging as it can be fulfilling. In this course students will explore, understand, and explain the harsh political realities of living in community, especially as they connect with concerns of human dignity, diversity, and social justice. Students will evaluate the ways that political action can be a potential site of hope as agents of change seek to address harsh political realities. Students will demonstrate an ability to be civically engaged, critical thinkers able to locate sites of hope and service in the face of outrage-inducing political realities. Specific topics covered will change to reflect contemporary political issues and controversies. CO: COM 101 .
