Catalog description

This course looks at different global philosophical traditions - for example, Indian Philosophy, Chinese philosophy, Buddhist philosophy, African philosophy and Western philosophy - from a historical perspective. It considers seminal texts, such as the Upanishads, the Analects, the Daodeching and the Dhammapada; and it looks at comparative themes, such as nature, suffering, violence, human nature, and the meaning of life.
