NUR 235 focuses on the knowledge, principles, and skills necessary to assess the physical, psychosocial, and functional status of clients at various stages of lifespan development using a concept-based approach. Foundational nursing and interprofessional concepts, principles, and skills that promote quality and safety outcomes in health care management are addressed. Emphasis is placed on the nurse’s role in assessing, identifying, and describing expected findings and variances. Quality Safety Education for Nursing (QSEN), Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC), Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), and the Creighton Care Management Model are used to help students develop affective, cognitive, and psychomotor skills required to be effective members of the health care team.
