Sources and Methods: Philosophy as Therapy

Catalog description

We will study the ways philosophers of various eras have employed philosophical therapies (e.g., against emotional turmoil or distorted outlooks on the world). We will explore the strengths and limitations of philosophical therapy and compare its techniques with those of psychological, sociological, and spiritual therapies. CR: Only open to students in the Honors Program.
