St. Augustine (354-430) is among the greatest and most influential of Christian theologians. This course offers in-depth examination of both his career and his theology, exploring his major works (Confessions, On the Trinity, and On the City of God) his doctrine-shaping controversies with Donatists and Pelagians, and his influence on Christian views of creation, Church, sacraments, and grace.
