Catalog description

This course provides an interdisciplinary introduction to one of the most important eras in history. We will study how a nineteen-year-old youth, Gaius Octavius, became the first Roman emperor, Augustus, and explore the ways the Western world was transformed during his fifty-eight years of power (44 BCE-14 CE). CR: Only open to students in the Honors Program.
