Catalog description
Disability is usually viewed as a condition of personal deficit, misfortune, and shame. This course will question practices and discourses through which these negative perceptions are generated and reinforced. Students will explore models of disability, reinterpretations of human variation, and narrative methods used to investigate the personal experience of disability. CR: Only open to students in the Honors Program.
