Sources and Methods: Gender in Classical Antiquity

Catalog description

By reading and interpreting primary and secondary sources, students examine Greek and Roman ideas about gender including how gender roles governed men and women's lives; how the ancient Greeks and Romans defined and used gender categories in literature, politics, law, religion, and medicine; and how these ancient ideas inform contemporary ones. CR: Only open to students in the Honors Program.
