The Essentials of Public Health

Catalog description

This course is designed to give students a broad overview of the logic, tools, structure, and practices that define the field of public health. A central theme in this course is that the logic of population health - i.e., looking at distributions of health-related incidents rather than at individual cases - can help us solve many problems that we might not initially categorize as "health" problems. The course is also designed to give motivation and practical guidance to students interested in a career in public health, and to students entering other health professions.
