Backpack Journalism

Catalog description

Backpack journalism is a faculty-led program abroad that embeds students on-location to produce a mini-documentary about a subject of socio-environmental significance. Students will learn the foundations of documentary filmmaking, including filming, editing, writing, and interviewing. It will foster global citizenship by introducing students to foreign environments, social norms, and worldviews. Course is repeatable up to 3 credit hours. CR: IC.
