This course introduces students to cultural issues that have defined the French-speaking world, utilizing the lens of colonialism and imperialism. We will discuss important political, linguistic, artistic, and literary topics across Francophone communities, with the goal of challenging our understanding of the worldwide influence of French language and culture.
