Catalog description
A laboratory-based course covering the theories and methods used in modern instrumental analysis. Topics include the theory and practice of instrumental techniques, statistical methods for evaluating and interpreting data, sources of noise and error, and experimental methods in spectroscopy, electrochemistry, and chromatography, chemical separations, and mass spectrometry. One hour of recitation and three hours of laboratory per week. Satisfies Magis Core: Designated Oral Communication, Designated Technology. P: CHM 315 or CHM 375 and CHM 376 , or CHM 331 or CHM 343 .
