Catalog description

An introduction to chemical applications of quantum mechanics including the particle-in-a-box, the harmonic oscillator, the rigid rotor, the hydrogen atom, and approximate methods for atoms and molecules. An introduction to spectroscopy including selection rules, rotational, vibrational, rovibrational, and electronic spectra, and lasers. The additional mathematics required will also be covered.
