Concepts of Physical Chemistry

Catalog description

A one-semester survey of physical chemistry. Topics include thermodynamics, equilibrium, kinetics, quantum theory, and spectroscopy. An emphasis will be placed on application with examples taken from chemical and biochemical systems. This course does not fulfill the requirement for the B.S.CHM. degree. P: MTH 246 or MTH 249 and PHY 201 or PHY 213 or PHY 221 . P or CO: PHY 202 or PHY 214 or PHY 222 ; CR: Enrolled in Biochemistry (B.S.) major. All other students should take CHM 341 .
