This course explores different understandings of health and how these influence perceptions and practices of care as well as policies pertaining to public health and health care. Students will compare and contrast their own understandings, perceptions, and knowledge with those of diverse groups and professionals encountered during a two-week program in Austria and Hungary, providing them with a unique opportunity to explore innovative thoughts and approaches for public health and health care in the United States.
