Catalog description

This course examines quantitative methods to support energy transition and inform climate-change mitigation policies. Students will learn about widely used software tools in the field, such as LEAP and NEMO, to assess energy transition pathways and policies. The course covers the analysis of energy demand and supply for different economic sectors as they navigate the shift toward low-carbon energy systems. Mathematical models will be utilized to identify optimal policies and energy transition scenarios. Finally, students will learn how to perform a cost-benefit analysis to quantify the effects of the identified scenarios.
