PUBPOL 5901
Health Policy DC Trek
Cornell University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The course examines the various stakeholders of the US healthcare system and how the stakeholders interact with one another as well as the federal policy environment. We specifically embark on this trek to spend time learning from and engaging with industry experts, federal agency representatives, healthcare consumer advocates, and federal policymakers all working in Washington DC. Our Friday and Saturday time in DC will be populated by a series of guest speakers and expert panels focused on a variety of current health policy issues with important implications for healthcare industries and businesses, such as value-based payment reforms, Executive branch health policy priorities, Congressional health policy priorities, digital health (e.g., AI) and regulation, prescription drug pricing, and the future of the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
