Mental Health Programs

Catalog description

This seminar will address core issues and techniques related to developing, evaluating and disseminating mental health programs. The course is particularly well suited for students who are interested in developing their own intervention or prevention techniques in the future. Students will be guided in applying the knowledge they learn in this course while completing a semester-long project. This project will include identifying and exploring an area of clinical interest, using scholarship and creativity to outline a novel mental health program, creating a plan for evaluating the program, and reflecting on issues related to program dissemination. This course is designed to be highly interactive. Students will engage in discussions and oral presentations as well as providing constructive feedback to help classmates improve their proposed programs.
